SMART is recruiting a Marketing Manager for the DACH Region. Reporting to the Head of EMEA Marketing, this role will be responsible for all aspects of End User marketing for DACH. This is a key role running marketing for one of the most important regions.
The role includes, but is not limited to, the creation and execution of a DACH Marketing Plan, PR and social media, events and trade shows, ownership of the DACH marketing database, demand generation, email marketing, nurture campaigns etc. across the Education and Enterprise markets.

Duties and Responsibilities

Develop and/or execute lead gen campaigns to drive qualified leads and opportunities for education and enterprise market segments in support of the DACH sales & marketing goals
Manage relationships with key DACH Agencies for PR, Event Management, Stand builders etc.
Monitor and report on key metrics associated with campaigns and activities
Organize and manage field marketing events (tradeshows, trainings, road shows and events) to include planning, messaging, logistics, staffing, collateral, and engage the global events team or local agencies as required
Own the marketing budget for DACH and manage spend to meet approved plan
Implement process for MDF and manage fund
Build reporting structure for distribution and reseller for joint marketing campaigns
Work closely and stay aligned with the DACH sales teams and channel partners:

campaign performance, analysis, follow-up and feedback
creation of customer references
assist with execution of sales developed campaigns
communicate lead gen plans
provide sales enablement support

Strategic:
Work with the regional and global marketing organization and product launch teams to design specific positioning and approaches that deliver relevant, customer-centric messages and sales tools
Create programs to drive awareness and adoption of SMART’s software portfolio
Creation of marketing campaigns for both the enterprise and education sectors and measure/report on the ROI/impact of those campaigns
Work with the regional and global marketing teams on global/regional campaigns
Develop proactive proposals, presentations, adoption frameworks and bid specs to:

accelerate (or re-establish) SMART adoption of IFPs within the DACH Education Sector
address priority competitive situations and at-risk districts
Identify and address region-specific product, category or market opportunities and threats

Manage local PR
Local agency management for PR, Events, Marketing etc.
Develop, execute and maintain a marketing plan for the DACH market and work closely with the DACH Partner Marketing Manager and DACH channel partners
You will be expected to develop strategic expertise in a specific product category or area of specialization while maintaining a strong understanding of SMART’s entire portfolio of education and enterprise offerings

Account-specific:
Work with the sales team to identify and prioritize strategic accounts and opportunities for large/strategic adoptions
Support specific customer meetings through sharing of insights and best practices around successful implementations and strategic deployment of funds

Cross-functional:
Act as a liaison between the sales organization and the solutions (program management) team, the product launch team and the global marketing organization, providing strategic and tactical input on campaigns, product launches, market development initiatives, and strategic adoptions
Communicate market specifics, requirements and changes to product development team and within global marketing team
Work with regional and global teams to understand and align with funding-related strategies, while executing across the field sales, telesales and marketing teams to capitalize into near-term revenue
Work closely with the other members of the International Marketing Team to build a high performing marketing organisation
Performing other duties as required

Key Skills

The ability to work independently - This role needs to take strategic ownership of the DACH Marketing Plan and execute it
A “can do” attitude – with a proven ability to get the job done. That might mean on one day developing a Social Media strategy and the next day helping to get a trade show stand ready,
SFDC and Marketing automation – at the heart of what we do. Help shape our plans moving forward. Own the DACH marketing data, keep it healthy and up-to-date. Work with agencies to expand our reach and develop new contacts.
Results and Metrics driven – a drive to improve ROI, understand, develop and nurture our pipeline and understand the performance of our business in cooperation with channel partners and the role that you play in our success.

Education & Work Experience

Three to five years’ experience in business to business marketing in either AV or IT market in DACH region
Sound understanding of 2-Tier sales model
Understanding of competition, target customer groups and how to address these groups (strategic and tactical)
Understanding of product positioning (pricing, channel, promotions)
Highly motivated, energetic and eager to provide leadership and direction to both internal and external teams and stakeholders
Degree or diploma in business, marketing, management, education or a related field
Education acumen and experience working across the education section preferred – but not essential
Skilled at strategic thinking and planning
Strong work ethic, leadership abilities and relationship-building skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, writing and presentation skills
Able to travel as required
Native speaker in German
Good English language skills

Additional Details

This role works onsite in our Cologne, Germany office, with travel as required within DACH region and globally for internal marketing meetings
This position has no direct reports
The work environment is fast-paced, continually changing and challenging
